Dennis Geyer Band - Featuring Jim Krueger and Mike Larscheid

Liquid Johnny's Jim Liban, Sam McCue and Dennis Geyer

The Dennis Geyer Band is another San Francisco Bay Area band from the early '70s. I am still getting information on band members etc...  This is one of my all-time favorite bands (great horns and rhythm section!).

I believe this show was recorded during a live radio show in either Sacramento or LA...

Band Members (please submit more information as these are all I know of):

Mike Larscheid - Bass, Backup Vocals

Jim Krueger - Lead Guitar, Backup Vocals

Dennis Geyer - Guitar, Lead Vocals

Bill Meeker - Drums

Songs (please submit songs names as I don't know the names of the songs and guessed based on the lyrics):

Easy Peace of Mind

Dream on all You People

Lonely Too

Hit by a Falling Tree

Keep on Tryin'

Hey Ms. Jones

Came Down with the Blues

Move to the Country

The Woman Never Left Me

Thanks for making this great music available. Your dad's band must have opened for someone in the bay area around 1971. We heard them and my brother and friends were hooked. We lived 2 hours away from the area but we drove many times to catch them at a club. I remember going to my high school library just to check the San Francisco Chronicle entertainment section looking to see if they were playing anywhere and then planing the trip. We never understood why they did not make it big as they put out such a great sound. For us, they were the best! We were into photography so we might have a picture or two if you are interested. I will look around.

Denny Geyer, Sam McCue and Jim Liban were Milwaukee, WI guys, maybe later they were in SF. Mike Larscheid was from Green Bay, his family lived right across from the Riverside Ballroom there. I was in the "Twistin Harvey" band with Mike when he was 18 in 1962. Liban still plays in Milwaukee as does Sam. Sam was an icon in the Milwaukee area from about 1961-1964 with the Legends. I played many dates with the "Renegades" at Muskego Beach with the Legends. I didn't know Denny Geyer, but knew of him, he played with Curley Cooke at one point.
